Sexology
People sometimes have sexuality related questions or problems that they can’t solve by themselves. They experience pain during intercourse (dyspareunia), have erectile or orgasmic dysfunctions, or encounter differences in sexual desire.
Sexual functioning can change as a result of numerous factors, such as aging, mental or physical illness, pregnancy, or fertility problems. Body and self image change, psychological problems occur, or the relationship with a partner suffers.
As a sexologist, I help you to better understand your problem. I use the biopsychosocial model to analyze physical, psychological, and social contributing factors. Together, we will then systematically work towards change.
Aside from sessions at my office, I often provide people with exercises to work on at home. In case you are in a relationship, it is often helpful and desired for your partner to join you for (some of) the sessions.
If you have questions related to sexual orientation, you are also welcome at my practice.
For several years, I worked with people with intellectual disabilities and I also specialized in autism spectrum disorders (ASS). Clients with such a diagnosis who have sexuality related questions or problems can also come to my practice for consultation or treatment..
